  1. Yeah if you have a mod then why would you want to put a brake on the end Fair enough if you are shooting PRS use a brake because there is nobody in your general vicinity to bother with blast but I suppose if you are shooting with people either side of you then I think it is common politeness to use a mod as it is quieter and doesn't create a back draught of dust and hot gasses although I wouldn't mind trying it out to see if it worked
  2. That's exactly what I mean Yeah if you have a mod then why would you want to put a brake on the end Fair enough if you are shooting PRS use a brake because there is nobody in your general vicinity to bother with blast but I suppose if you are shooting with people either side of you then I think it is common politeness to use a mod as it is quieter and doesn't create a back draught of dust and hot gasses although I wouldn't mind trying it out to see if it worked
  3. Just had a look on the link and there is no plot o matic there just the dreaded 404 page not found
  4. And just having had a look at the prices there is a quick release on your wallet and credit card as well. I can understand pro and semi pro shooters (and military / police snipers) spending this sort of money on one of these bipods but for the average shooter who is just coming in to the sport of LR & ELR and learning the ropes these bipods are priced out of the ordinary shooter's range. It would be nice to be able to afford one but first rifle, scope, bipod, mounts, moderator, ammunition and numerous other things that the new shooter needs these bipods are an unaffordable luxury for me anyway.

  6. Thanks for the advice I'll beware of the snake oil sales men and ladies of course
  7. OK after reading and searching I have found some mods can have muzzle brakes attached I can't find out how common this is, if all mods can have muzzle breaks attached, if anybody on the site has the combination on their rifle if so did the mod come with the brake or did you have to get it fitted? The reason I have raised this topic because I have seen complaints about shooters with brakes getting complained about on the firing points and PRS have said that it is better to have a brake fitted for competitions than a mod because there is not usually anybody near you when you are shooting, hence my question is can all moderators be fitted with muzzle brakes? Any suggestions even those telling me to go away in short jerky movements would be appreciated.

  9. I do tend to hold back sometimes but when I get my rifle being there with it and people asking me about it I will feel better and less hesitant to talk to them. I am waiting for GMP to finish my application, everything was put on hold for the second lockdown, they didn't even contact my referees by phone or post they just left FAC applications sitting there building up a backlog, I contacted them beginning of the year and got told they were doing health and safety investigations then I found out that my application had been started about 7 weeks ago and my referees still haven't heard anything it would be nice if anybody can give me some idea of the waiting time if it is weeks or months
  10. Will do, I don't actually know to many people to speak to not having and anything to discuss, no rifle, scores or anything like that. I have mentioned to Vince that I would like to learn to shoot long range when I saw his name on the notice board saying he taught long range shooting. I did feel a little (to be honest very shy) as people were all talking about the match they had just shot in or what they were going to do. I completed my probation but haven't touched a rifle since because there aren't any club guns. But thanks for the invite I will get up for a chat ASAP.
  11. Out of interest what would one of your rifles cost? Other than winning the lottery I know I'd never be able to afford one but I can dream. I had better start saving then if they are less that the current AI offering of about £4300 then I might just do it by the time I retire

  13. Gun Pimp I don't know if you saw my message still getting the hang of sending them I'm a member of PSSA, I have been waiting for my FAC for ages, got the money for application cabinet etc had to buy a new car, then MOT failed then lockdown freedom have cabinet paid fees lockdown 2 my application was submitted in September 2020 they only started working on it 6 weeks ago so I now have a serious wad and it isn't going to waste believe me.
  14. Gun Pimp when I get the hang of replying I'm a PSSA member nearly 4 years waiting to get FAC so I can start shooting
