Hi, yes, a few bits and bobs (though no scopes left). I had separate posts last month on an Armalon scope mount for a No.4 and an HPS Convertible stock to fit a Barnard P or Paramount action. I'm shortly going to issue new posts (with photos) on a set of .308 Brass Grippers (new and unused), a Nightforce 20MOA rail to fit a Remington 700 Short Action (new and unused) and a Lee Deluxe Die set in .303 (used once).

For sale, Armalon scope mount for Lee Enfield No. 4. Completely unused (only ever taken out of the plastic bag for this photo!). £75 plus P&P or it may be possible to collect from Bisley.

I'm selling three scopes which are now surplus to requirements, all SFP. I have two Meopta Optika6 scopes, a 3-18x50 with a BDC reticle and a 4.5-27x50 with a 4C reticle; and an IOR Terminator 12-52x56 with the MP-8 reticle. All of them are boxed with the original packaging and instructions. The Meoptas have 30mm tubes and the IOR has a 40mm tube. The Meopta 3-18x50 has never been fired on a rifle. The Meopta 4.5-27x50 has been used three times. I haven't included detailed photos of the Meoptas since they're in as new condition with no visible ring marks. If you haven't come across the Meopta Optika6, have a look at some of the reviews - they're impressive scopes. The IOR is optically perfect with only very slight and limited ring marks on the tube. The photos of the rear and objective lenses are of the IOR. It comes complete with a one piece mount and a sunshade. Prices are as follows: Meopta 3-18x50 with BDC reticle: £475 Meopta 4.5-27x50 with 4C reticle: £475 IOR Terminator 12-52x56: £1,475 It should be possible to view / collect at Bisley or I can send by post at cost. For Sale for £695, an HPS Convertible Stock complete with a System Gemini folding bipod and bedding blocks both for a Paramount action and for a Barnard P action (the latter bedding block being completely unused). Also comes with an extra set of screws to increase the stock length, plus a different sized pistol grip. All in excellent condition. Will send by post or it may be possible to collect at Bisley. Mattnall's comment is spot on. If you didn't follow the barrel break-in procedure and for any reason your rifle isn't shooting as well as you would like, you will always think "What if?" You won't be able to prove it one way or the other, of course, but following the correct break-in procedure will give you peace of mind. Otherwise, you may find yourself wondering, for years afterwards, if you undermined your barrel's performance by being too hasty at the outset, and not taking the time to follow the procedure.

I would second the comments on the Meopta Optika 6 line. I have the 4-27x50 and 3-18x50 in SFP which I got from Ivythorn Sporting in Somerset (who were really good to deal with). The Meopta reticles are excellent, as is the quality of the glass. Most impressed. I've used Nightforce, Schmidt & Bender and Leupold, and from a practical perspective, I think the Meopta compares very favourably.

Hi Frederick, as noted by Leeman, your Sierra 168 grain projectiles aren't going to be much use at 1,000 yards! They should work really well between 100 to 600 yards (and even up to 800 yards), but the Sierra 168 grain bullet shape just doesn't work beyond that. Indeed, there's a good chance that a 168 grain projectile fired from a .308 Win won't even connect with the target at 1,00 yards. If you can locate them, Sierra 175 grain projectiles should work just fine at 1,000 yards. (I'm not saying that the Sierra 175 is necessarily the best choice, but it should at least find the target!)

I have used various types of electronic powder dispensers / scales for years, but have found them insufficiently reliable owing to their tendency to drift. For the last few years, I've been using a basic RCBS 505 scale coupled with this frankly fantastic bit of kit: TARGETMASTER - Online Shop (targetmasteruk.com) I use an RCBS powder thrower to produce a rough charge and then use the Targetmaster to top it up. It's accurate - reliably accurate - and pretty fast. I still have a set of lab scales just to check a sample of charge weights, but I can't imagine using anything but the Targetmaster now.

Thanks Ewen and that's helpful, I may well be in touch. As you can probably guess, I'm interested in any published reviews on the UPG-1, or of course any user feedback. I did find a review at all4shooters.com which was favourable, but that's the only one I could find. At this rate, I'll need to buy a UPG-1 and write a review myself! Fundamentally, the things of most interest to me are grouping capability and also the reliability of feeding, including when the bolt is operated very fast (i.e. faster than for normal deliberate work, for snap-shooting / McQueen style etc).

Hi, has anyone got any experience of the Unique UPG-1 that they are able to share? UPG-1 - Unique Alpine (unique-alpine.com) If so, how do you think the UPG-1 stacks up against the Tikka TAC A1, in terms of build quality / accuracy / reliability? I handled a Unique UPG-1 recently at my RFD and thought it seemed very similar / comparable to the TAC A1. I like the fact that the UPG-1 uses AICS magazines. Thanks.
