  1. I am pretty pretty  sure that any moderator is NOT designed to have a blast from the shot going all over the end of the outside of the barrel. The outside of the barrel would be fu##### in no time.the reflex type does has an expansion chamber OVER the barrel but it is sealed away from the barrel.there is plenty of diagrams on the Internet.

  2. Hi

I think it would be best if you contacted gun smiths in the first instance. It will save a lot of emails back and forth.

They will want to discuss what exactly your needs are and what you intend to use the rifle for.

I recently sent off my rifle for a new barrel.

Firstly I sent an email explaining what rifle I had and what my intentions and expections were for the rifle.

I ended the email saying I would give the gum Smith a call in a few days. This way he had most of the info before I called him.

    This seemed to work well

  3. I made up some dummy rounds today and with the 77 grain smk bullets, I can get a oal of 2.260, to fit in the plastic mags.JUST.

Once I get the rifle back ,I might seat them a few thou deeper to ensure clearance.

    Thanks

  4. My SGC speedmaster( 223)  is away getting a new barrel fitted. My plan is to use 77 grain smk bullets. Having looked at my magazines ( PMAGX30) ,The 77grain should fit in. My question is, would other brand's of magazines have more internal room to allow my to make the col a bit longer?

I have a few metal mags but they old and do not run smoothly. I much prefer plastic mags.

    Thanks

  5. Hi. I have been using the 357 version of this bullet for a while now in my marlin. I too noticed the above but on the 357 version the edge of the bullet is the same size of the outside of the primer. The anvil area of the primer is well clear. It looks fine to me.

    Cheers
