  1. Ok, looks like i did get lucky!. I would have still paid the $ 199 if that was the case. Cheers Shoppe
  2. My shooting pal would like to buy the bipod but is not on this forum. Could you contact him on the following number please ? Rick on 07974 913 592. He will buy it today. Many thanks George
  3. When i got my sight back, there was a HUGE difference in the brightness. Over time I just get used to it and did not realise something was not quite right. Cheers Shoppe
  4. I agree with the finger fatigue thing. I normally load in batchs of 100.
  5. I have not got one of these but here is my thoughts. Maybe fine for de-priming in front of the tv. I use the lee depriming die. You can rattle through HEAPS of cases in no time at all. It must be one of the quickest steps to be carried when reloading. Keep your money unless you want to watch the tv at the same time. It looks like ,given time, bits will wear out on this tool.
  6. Never had a problem. Correct size of mandrel ( for me) and chamfer on inside and outside. Yes, i maybe get 1 dented neck in a box. Cheers Shoppe
  7. survey done via one of my rifle clubs. Shoppe
  8. That's what I thought. I am no expert by any means but I would not have thought it was a way of deciding what the chamber is like? Surly if you did that to any round of ammunition the same would happen? I would not think that factory ammo would be THAT long to jam in the rifling, especially just a 55 grain bullet. I think you answered your own question saying other ammo is very good. Sounds very much like it is was the ammunition, not your rifle. Cheers Shoppe
  9. My vithavuori reloading book is the first edition from 1994 I bought new. It is the only one I have. All the loads ( 308,223 and 357) printed in it are " higher " than current printed data. I would suspect the same for other calibres but since I do not reload for other calibres I do not compare them. When developing a new load, I refer to it first but also check the current printed data. I have never had a problem with using the data from this book. My reloads reflect what is printed in this book. I would say my reloads ( apart from the 357) are near the top end. As best practice, I start that bit lower and work up if needed. Cheers. Shoppe
  10. Alan. Your right there. I do not normally use them but with no suitable range time I had no choice. There is a competition at end of November that I needed to confirm the settings for.
  11. Alan, My target was NOTHING like that. Your above target is the same as I have seen when using my underlever 357 at 50 yards with birchwood targets. That is the type of result I was expecting to see. I think with genuine birchwood targets I would be able to see the shots at 600 if they look like the above target. I have a march highmaster scope . My pal had his spotting scope with him but still could not make the actual "Splashs" as there was they were not there. I think his scope at a maximum magnification of about 40. The Black coating on the targets I bought is very very thin compared with birchwood targets. It is nothing like as "fragile" as the birchwood targets coating . I think the plan going forward is to buy birchwood targets for the future. Thank you both for your input Shoppe
  12. For various reasons I needed to check the zero on my 223 rifle up to 600 yards. There was not an available range day at my local club. I was going to visit my game keeper pal to zero my rifle over the estate he works on. I would buy some shoot and c type targets. The brand I bought were spattererburst. However, they did not work for me. The black covering did not break up to reveal the yellow colour below. The shots were very very hard to see even with the scope turned up to 60 mag. The holes seemed to seal up? Is this because it being a 223 , 77 grain smk? ( small bullet going fast) or this is not a suitable brand of target for this bullet? Would the "shoot and c "brand have worked any better? Anyone had experience with these type of targets? Many thanks Shoppe
  13. It's possible to make anything fit into anything but it may mean the end result is a compromise.
  14. It is possible to look up load data on the Swiss powder site Just enter the calibre, powder type and it shows the loads. Cheers Shoppe
  15. I have 2 .223 rifles. I use n133 for 55grain blitz kings in 1 rifle. The other rifle I use n140 for 77 grain match kings or heavier bullets Both rifles / powders give excellent results. Both loads are in the high 24 grain range.
  16. My sight got posted away on Tuesday 11july. It arrived back this morning in my hands in the North of Scotland. They fixed the diming problem and fitted new front and rear lenses also a general service. All this including postage back for a standard charge of $79. Amazing service . Well done to them. Shoppe

  18. Hi. My 512 eotech is starting to dim and I am losing the reticle in bright days. It never used to do that. I emailed eotech about sending it back for repair. The scope is dated 2014. They replied to my email with a number to enable to to send it them in America. I had to pay $79. That's when the problems started. It needed me to fill in my details ( for the card payment as they already knew I was from Scotland) but it would not allow me to enter it. It would only allow address's from America . I emailed again but this time they said they had missed I was sending it from Scotland and not to send the sight to them. They are going to contact their international division to see if it is possible to get my sight fixed . I have not heard back but that was only a few days ago . I will wait a few days yet before I try again. Had anyone else had to have a eotech sight repaired in the UK? Many thanks Shoppe
  19. It was Stuart who supplied my savage ftr a long time ago.
  20. Enter the following in to you tube to see my rifle being shot by my friend. Excuse the broad Scots accent!! F class rifle 600 yards at Cawdor rifle and Gun Club.
  21. Savage ftr all day. It will suit you perfect. Mine was the first ten in the UK MANY years ago. It only got a new barrel a few years ago. Excellent value. I will post a link to a video on you tube posted by a friend when he had a few shots of mine years ago. J did not know he was filming it at first!
  22. What gets me is that in the recent ( tragic ) case of the missing dog walker there is loads and loads of people from over the country slagging the police and others for not finding her body sooner. They all have an opinion on this case. But when there is very very clear failings from the police in many cases involving firearms or shotguns these same people are silent! Is this because the general public never hear the extent of the failings or what? The news media ALWAYS skirt round the full findings and wheel out somebody who has a political reason for doing an uneducated speech. The general public will not know the hoops we have to jump through. I sent a letter to basc about 3 months after the Plymouth shootings explaning that they need to get straight in there telling the general public etc about police failings IF indeed this was the case. I understand when I sent the letter it was still under investigation but I explained this in my letter. I explained that it would have to be when the investigation was completed. Basc send out their news letter to the membership but it is the general public etc need to hear about things not existing shooters! They need to be in the public arena MUCH more. I did not get a reply from basc.
