I believe that Steve Kershaw maybe the man in the know, I'll be calling today as I'm in the same boat in regards to stock options

    Ok

let me know how you get on, Ive often thought of getting the existing stock reworked and possibly coated but part of me wants to keep it as it is due to it  being virtually unmarked.

My first .22 bolt action was an Anschutz.
    It came with one magazine.
    I went to buy a 2nd magazine.
It was cheaper (then) to part-ex the Anschutz & get a BRNO Mod.2 then buy BRNO spare mags than get more Anshutz mags.
Owned the Mod.2 for about 30 years - it was a tack driver from day 1

Hi I’ve owned this old 1427 since 2000 I was lucky enough to get it off a guy in Fort William for basically peanuts, his mrs had only ever used it as a single shot target rifle so all the mags were present and unused. I’ve often thought of upgrading the stock to something akin to some of the rimfires on this post, but options seem to be limited so if anyone has any idea of what might fit I’d be open to suggestions. Cheers

    Dave,

Did you get it sorted out??~Andrew

    Hi Andrew

Unfortunately it’s not been out of  the cabinet lately due to work and the current events. I may well go the route as described by the burpster at some point. I do regret with hindsight  not punting it back to the dealer the first time it did it. Anyway if and when it gets sorted I’ll post it in here.

    Cheers

Just finished my new Ultimatum Deadline rifle. Joint Canadian/UK/Ireland build.
Canadian Deadline action, Canadian IBI barrel, Canadian Triggertech trigger, barrel work by Brock & Norris with invisible thread cap. Machining looks beautiful, very happy with it. Stock by PSE and I fitted, bedded, sprayed the rifle/stock. Never had a brown rifle before.... Scope 3-27x56 PMII with 262 upward (cm) clicks available after zero which should be enough. Only zeroed with 180 Sako Hammerhead so far, only 7 rounds through including chrono. Accuracy will be checked later.

Ah - in that case, forget the Mini-14 & RUC

This may be a pistol scope - as the rings with it also fit the Ruger Blackhawk revolver - sounds like a pistol scope as the rings ARE Ruger type and no Mini-14 I have ever seen had the front of the receiver machined to accept their own rings

OK, I’ll endeavour to find out more as the guy whom the info came from was a serving RUC officer at the time. Either way it is what it is so to speak.
Could you explain the post eye relief ?? Question ,Been shooting for a long time now including in the armed forces and I’ve never came across that wording or description before ??? unless it was a typo for pistol !

By long eye relief , is that post eye relief or scout. Scope eye relief ? Interested in the latter 👍

Post eye relief ?? Excuse my ignorance  on that subject, but as i see it just checking now the scope gives full and correct picture from about 12-18 inches out from the eye right up to full arm length !! Hope that helps. As I said  it was originally on a Ruger mini 14 so maybe that will assist.

  8. Hi All

Bushmaster 2.5-32 long eye relief scope and genuine Ruger stainless 1” mounts. I’ve had this lying around for years gathering dust. Believed to come off an RUC mini 14. Good condition throughout with a few little marks on scope body but glass is perfect, mounts themselves are immaculate. Turret cap is off for pics only.
Hopefully someone has a use for it.

They are a decent mid-low budget range scope, perfect for a rimfire or airgun
    Value around £30-£40 probably

You'll likely get a decent amount for the Ruger rings as they are proprietary to the Ruger receivers, so should (from memory) also fit the M77 bolt action series as well as Mini-14 models

If you had better provenance about an RUC connection then the value of the set would change accordingly

    Hi Cheers again.
Thanks for the information. I’ll stick it up for sale at a not too unreasonable price and hopefully someone can make use of it.
    Thanks

    Look like Mini-14 rings

I either still have, or had until recently one of these scopes.
Mine came from a .22 rimfire

Standard commercial scope circa mid-late 1980s
Did you take the turret cap off for the photos or is it missing?

    Hi

Cheers for the info, very much appreciated. Guess the story of it coming off a mini 14 has some credence then. Cap is present but I took it off for the pic to assist with the ID process. Next question i guess is does anyone have any use for it and does it have any value 🤷‍♂️
    Cheers

If you can cause it to happen without chambering a round, break it open and see what it is doing. I am not familiar with the kind of trigger arrangement the SIG has but it sounds like a bad disconnector.~Andrew

Problem is Andrew it is totally intermittent. I’ve had it open and manually cocked the hammer loads of times to try and duplicate it and have studied the release  etc when pulling the trigger to try and identify any irregularities. I’ve a couple of options left but as I said initially I was curious if anyone else had experienced anything similar.
    cheers

  13. Hi All

I’ve a 522 swat model I’ve owned from new, probs no more than 500 rounds through it. Trigger has never been great to say the least and has from day one occasionally showed a problem when initially cocking and chambering a round, you go to pull the trigger and it pulls through it’s entire travel but fails to release the hammer. Trigger feels totally dead or disconnected, action taken was to re cock and carry on. I thought things would loosen up after a bit of use but the problem is still there. Just wonder if  any other 522 users had experienced anything similar??. Also any ideas as to any improvements to be made to the factory trigger units operation.
    cheers

Get in touch with club secretary. The club regularly shoot near Longside with guest days normally the last Sunday of each month.

I was passed a number from another member of this forum  and spoke to a gentleman from the club  yesterday morning. He said he would get the secretary to contact me that day as they have a shoot on today. Ain’t as of yet heard anything back but I’ll try the guy again tomorrow.

Would much rather collate the facts of the situation and see what drops out than speculate . I have seen many threads deteriorate into a non sensical slanging match based on hearsay .

Obviously keen to see a shooter friendly outcome as we have precious little by way of these type of facilities in this country .Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Very true but it’s looking like there is a huge disparity in the facts/detail contained within the information that is coming from both the concerned parties !!

My understanding is that Marc was opening another range for Police and Military use based upon 2k max with moving targets etc whilst keeping the Eskdalemuir range open as normal . In the meantime it appears that the land owner and the 50 cal club have had secret talks to setup the same range but run by the 50 cal club . Gardners have control of the land around the existing range which I'm guessing would have issues for anyone wanting to run the current range due to the fall out area and with the land owner going behind Marc's back I can't see that being an option . Please don't take this as gospel as this is what I've gathered speaking to a reliable source.

I would Imagine that my membership along with others would be used at the new range ????????

    OSOK

Well as had  been said In several posts until the facts are out then it’s best to reserve judgement upon what’s actually gone on. But if any other club or organisation has gone behind another’s back to better its own situation at the expense of others then quite frankly it’s a disgusting low trick to pull. If and that’s a big if, the 50 cal club has done what is being suggested then it’s a total snub to all those whom backed what is basically an elite or at least for most a financially unobtainable form of shooting when the drive to ban it was in motion. Hopefully the 50 cal club or at least a member will enlighten people as to how they view all this.

I'm meant to be there next week and I haven't received any info, is there anything I need to be aware of? (you can PM me if its sensitive).

    All the best

Anyone know the basic outline as to what’s actually happening here. E Mail has been read but the background to it all would be nice to know. You would have thought all shooting disciplines, clubs and organisations would pull together nowadays. Lot of people including myself signed off the petition and wrote to my MP ref the proposed 50cal ban even though I’ll more than likely never own one. As in all things there will be two sides to the story but an explanation from both parties would be interesting.
