  1. Anschutz 1427 shortened and fitted with a SAK mod. Never took pics of the groups but it will do ragged holes at 50m all day with Eley subs. Been a great rifle and the trigger is awesome, I’ve taught 4 sons the basics using this and it’s still the go to bit of kit if we want to do a bit of plinking.

    Long range scope options.

Hi looking at the options out there in relation to purchasing a new scope. Hopefully to be utilised at 1000m plus. I've been away from the target /tactical comp type shooting for a good few years whilst concentrating on vermin and pest control shooting. Used to shoot PR with an armalon remy vs308 with what I though at the time was the dogs nuts Schmidt 10x42. I know things have moved on dramatically so I'm after some input on what's out there. I like what S&B have on offer but the choice is pretty bewildering. I have a couple of meoptas on rifles and they have proven to be great scope. Anyone used IOR ????. Rifle will be either in 300 Winmag or 338 lapua. Budget for the scope would be around £2500. Done a fair bit of reading up on this but I guess there's no substitute for hands on experience. FFP/SFP I'm open to input on that subject too. Cheers

    Tikka Mounts

Hi All Having a clear out and just curious as to what value to put on these old mounts. Both are 1 inch and came off a M55 and a 595. One set are Warne QD and the other as per pic JLS. The latter set could in reality do with new screws as they have obviously been chewed up a bit overtime, any clue as to what to price them at would be appreciated. Cheers

    Tikka Mounts

Well spotted that man 👍 they are indeed Hilver Australian made mounts. I was gonna update the post tomorrow after spending a bit of time online tonight but you beat me too it. Hopefully someone will have a use for either of the sets. It was around 94-95 when they were bought to go on a 223 595 deluxe so easy to forget the details.

    Semi Custom 22lr

Ok let me know how you get on, Ive often thought of getting the existing stock reworked and possibly coated but part of me wants to keep it as it is due to it being virtually unmarked.

    Semi Custom 22lr

Hi I’ve owned this old 1427 since 2000 I was lucky enough to get it off a guy in Fort William for basically peanuts, his mrs had only ever used it as a single shot target rifle so all the mags were present and unused. I’ve often thought of upgrading the stock to something akin to some of the rimfires on this post, but options seem to be limited so if anyone has any idea of what might fit I’d be open to suggestions. Cheers

    SIG 522 SWAT Trigger issue

Hi Andrew Unfortunately it’s not been out of the cabinet lately due to work and the current events. I may well go the route as described by the burpster at some point. I do regret with hindsight not punting it back to the dealer the first time it did it. Anyway if and when it gets sorted I’ll post it in here. Cheers Dave
  15. Hi All I’ve a 522 swat model I’ve owned from new, probs no more than 500 rounds through it. Trigger has never been great to say the least and has from day one occasionally showed a problem when initially cocking and chambering a round, you go to pull the trigger and it pulls through it’s entire travel but fails to release the hammer. Trigger feels totally dead or disconnected, action taken was to re cock and carry on. I thought things would loosen up after a bit of use but the problem is still there. Just wonder if any other 522 users had experienced anything similar??. Also any ideas as to any improvements to be made to the factory trigger units operation. cheers

    Ultimatum Deadline 300WM

    Proper bit of kit 👍
  17. Hi All Bushmaster 2.5-32 long eye relief scope and genuine Ruger stainless 1” mounts. I’ve had this lying around for years gathering dust. Believed to come off an RUC mini 14. Good condition throughout with a few little marks on scope body but glass is perfect, mounts themselves are immaculate. Turret cap is off for pics only. Hopefully someone has a use for it. £50 posted within UK Cheers
  18. OK, I’ll endeavour to find out more as the guy whom the info came from was a serving RUC officer at the time. Either way it is what it is so to speak. Could you explain the post eye relief ?? Question ,Been shooting for a long time now including in the armed forces and I’ve never came across that wording or description before ??? unless it was a typo for pistol !
  19. Post eye relief ?? Excuse my ignorance on that subject, but as i see it just checking now the scope gives full and correct picture from about 12-18 inches out from the eye right up to full arm length !! Hope that helps. As I said it was originally on a Ruger mini 14 so maybe that will assist.

Hi All Had this scope lying around for years gathering dust. Was given it by a mate I served with whom had a brother in the RUC, rightly or wrongly he said it had came off a mini 14 !!. Just wondering if anyone had any information on them. cheers
