  1. 'Tuwatt-o-meter'😂😂love it, bradders has gone quiet, hope he's not died!!
  2. Cheers gunner, looks like vn133 is a good powder for the practical, exploding magpies, my favourite 😀
  3. My ma and pa brought me up to say please and thank you too, I can't stand people that are rude and have no manners, but unfortunately there's not many like you bradders that speak their mind and tell the offenders, so keep it up, I like your sense of humour!!when this thread started kicking off It made me smile, as i thought you were having a laugh!! Anyway you won't get me going to bisley, did it 30 odd years ago and the drive was a pig then😀. Hopefully you'll be doing the drive for many more years to come.
  4. Thanks for that fizz, I'm hoping I can get mine shooting well with vn133, as that's what shoots good in my .204 and fireball, be nice to use one powder for all 3. That's a good speed for 24 grns with 39 sbk's and 22" tube, I've decided 23" on mine. Your rifle sounds nice, I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the pard nv008 , sounds like a good unit for the money!!
  5. Ok cheers mate, no worries ,sounds like a good round☺.I will find my own load, with vhitavouri powder hopefully, I use 39grn sbk's in my .204 Ruger so know they do a good job on fox but as this will be a bit multi purpose i fancy getting the 32gr sbk's singing, especially for the smaller vermin.
  6. Thanks for the replies chaps👍. Treetop, that's going well with 39 sbk's, what powder are you using and how many grains?.Have you tried 32 grn sbk's?
  7. Cheers mark, hopefully they'll all reply 👍
  8. As so many of you on here reckon it's a great round ,(baldie especially😋) I've decided to have the semi custom fireball i was having done , as a .20 practical now. Got the stock, hs precision thumbhole, remington action with custom bolt and Jewell trigger, T1 Sassen barrel 10 twist, all ready to be put together ☺. Just need to decide length of barrel, which bullets to use, what dies to buy, etc Like to read your thoughts/experience with this round, will be used for fur and feathered vermin. Thanks bob. Pics of stock with rosewood buttpad and action.
  9. Hi Martin, yep I'm beginning to think they're being dropped off again had the same on this farm 2 yrs ago, just kept wacking them every night I went there, shot 95 that year, normally about 50 per year on this farm.
  10. Been picking up on same farm today and foxes everywhere again, beaters reckon 5 different foxes, jeeezus it's hard keeping up with them at the moment !!! Not long ago I had them right down but they're back with a vengeance.
  11. Funny you should say that, I was thinking of taking mine the last time I was picking up but decided not to in the end. Let us know how you get on if you take it.
  12. Cheers Martin, well done too. yep you definately get the odd spooked fox with ir, the one I shot tonight was at 4.50 pm and only just dark, but as it as only about 100yds on the bait I didn't need to turn on the ir, could see it no prob with the drone. If you don't need the ir, don't turn it on👍
  13. Another 2 hrs + on the hiseat tonyt, and a big dog fox fell to the 204 and drone, they keep on coming !!
  14. Yep the list is endless, brilliant things thermal spotters😃. Hope the electrician gave you a drink Bruce!!
  15. I told you you'll end up spending loads a money 😁😁
  16. Had a few invites to shoot duck, so thought I'd take the thermal spotter aswel as the lab, came in very handy for any duck that had dropped way out on the wheat, or still on the water that hadn't been picked😃
  17. 3 hours on the hiseat tonight, bloody freezing out there, but shot another vixen,so worth the cold wait, and a text made a happy farmer again😃.
  18. Another farm I had cleared all the foxes on, got down to just the odd one, then these 3 mangy burger bar Charlie's turn up,all shot in one spot, vixen and 2 dogs, one of them an absolute monster that stank to high hell. I reckon definately mangy town drop offs !!!
  19. No luck off the hiseats tonight, 4 hours and a numb bum, had enough so got down, went to pick my lad up from his seat, and determind not to leave without a fox had a drive around. An hour later and we had shot a dog and vixen, so got home relieved we'd not blanked😃.
  20. Hi nick, both, but depends how I'm going about it. If I'm sitting in a hiseat or waiting standing on back of truck, it's thermal spotter and drone pro n/v. If I'm being driven around then occasionally lamp and rifle, more early days on stubble though, then after that when driven around lamp to spot and on to drone for shot with lampman watching through thermal. Tomorrow night I'll be in a hiseat with my n/v and my lad will be in another seat with his nitesite eagle and spotter extreme. I haven't lamped this farm since harvest, just n/v.
  21. On one of the farms I control the foxes and pick up on, and it was my driven pheasant invite day, Saw one picking up two weeks ago so sat up hi seat a few nights later and shot a dog and vixen, result, cleared up again☺. Then today 3 foxes seen, and stunk of fox everywhere, sometimes they make you look like you're not doing a proper job😓. Weather looks good for tomorrow night so hopefully my lad and I will sort them out again!!
