  1. I broached the subject of a .338LM (for deer) with my FEO and was told the Home Office regard this as a "dangerous game" cartridge and would be fine if I wanted to take it abroad but was too much cartridge for the UK.

He then went on to make himself look even more confused by stating he would be more than happy for me to have a 30-338LM conditioned for deer.......i guess you just play the post code lottery and get what you get !!

    Regards, Rob.

  2. Hi Grouse....

take a look at www.tacmedsolutions.com not sure how they compare price wise but they have a great range of gear to check out.

Yes they have a use by date, usually 5 years from manufacture, but not always from date of sale....may have been in stock a while. They come in a sealed, airtight packaging so providing they aren't damaged, don't necessarily have to be kept completely dry.

As BD stated, get the gauze not the granules.

    Regards, Rob.

  3. Agree with brown dog's comments totally......I have both quick clot and cellox gauze in my range/stalking bags along with CAT tourniquets.

Having spoken at length with local ambulance service they were of the opinion that if you used the granular clotting agents then most A&E consultants wouldn't know what it was or how to deal with it (generally, thankfully they rarely deal with ballistic trauma!).......stick to the gauze/bandages.

    Regards Rob.
