Im not fully versed yet with this new Thermal scope,i keep forgetting to press the record button!Anyways set up in my usual position approximately 70 Yds..i know I’m old school..can’t get on with this metres malarkey!We earlier had McDonald’s BigMac meals so i grabbed/salvaged some of the leftovers,positioned them in my ambush point and waited ..40 mins later in from the right came the heat signal and clear picture of a large Charlie ambling over to investigate the lovely smell of BigMac & Fries!I always set up the thermal scope via Bluetooth to my phone which is a lot easier than swinging the empty un-cocked rifle about.hence as soon as the fox comes into view I’ve only got about 20 seconds to put on my ear defenders,cock the bolt down into the Tikka .223,take my glasses off..then remember to press the record button and finally get ready to take the shot.Got the 1st Charlie..boiler house shot ..instant lights out,go out and set him out as a decoy near the grub.After about an hour and half in comes Charlie no 2 coming from the front about 119 Yds and looking and movingly gingerly very focused/purposely on to a free meal and his friend almost tucking away.This time i remembered to turn on the record button the moment i saw the heat signal.Waited a few seconds for him to come with in my kill zone and another clean shot..the main things..i remembered to get it all on record and both the Charlie’s had no idea any one was even there! trim.CEE9E55D-D226-4408-9C43-7DA61D25F6EE.MOV

Here’s a bonus ..whilst i was controlling foxes last night,after bagging fox no1.I neatly put him in my ambush point and waited..always get bonuses like passing Barn owls/Little Owls hunting nearby and quite often alight nearby posts and low hung branches.It’s almost as they are seeking our company..but i think they just instinctively know we are hunting also and they’ve got a good chance of a free meal.Any way i always get rats/mice/voles scuttling about near my zone,whilst i was waiting and saw this vole/mice @ 40 odd yds moving about..I just started recording it to show how impressive this thermals performance at even these tiny animals heat sourceFast forward i decided to follow it..after a few seconds whoosh in comes a missile ..im sure it was a little owl almost hit it.Thankfully Big Al was kind enough to put up this video in its entirety. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Lv6XAAh78qsgdRCJ6

Solid built in Czech Republic model 62453 excellent all round scope works spot on,clarity is awesome especially in low light.It’s got a few minor marks here and there and a little mark on the front obj lens ..but doesn’t effect it at all,but overall very good condition and these old versions are getting rare!Also advertised elsewhere £150 Posted in U.K

Just an update ..I thought many would like to know.. Well I’ve finally managed to get the brake lights turned off via a switch! My first electrician didn’t want to risk messing about with this newer models wiring too much.. it would have been too risky/Costly had it gone wrong. Got another electrician.. actually the original that did my 1st older 4x4 many years ago.. He managed to trace the individual wire from the controller going directly to the led bulb,and put an interrupter switch to it ..on both rear brake lights and it all works as I always wanted to. The 3 rd brake light on the top I just pulled the connector! It took a good 3-4 hours mind as a lot of the trims and bits had to be taken apart to thread the cables professionally. I’m over the moon as I went out last night and got 1 Fox to just double check!

Since you’re asking.. And an update..due to my constant badgering ..he’s successfully disabled the Reversing lights 100 % with no issues. Now he’s also managed to turn off the DRL ..but only if the light switch is turned on! Not ideal... but it certainly is a step forward! Hth
