njc110381
Hey guys. I know feelings are mixed about Prvi ammo, especially with those of us who are a bit ammo fussy but here goes! I've used this make of ammunition in a number of guns. Some loved it, some hated it, and I don't much like their bullets for deer. But for foxing, assuming it shoots ok in my rifle, how do the bullets perform? As long as they don't punch straight through then they're good enough really. Ideally they'd be rather splatty. Going by how their deer bullets shed weight in the carcass, I'm thinking that at .22-250 speeds they may actually be quite good?! When I buy a new rifle I often use it to get used to the gun. That in turn produces brass to reload later on, and I quite like Prvi brass.

Mark Jones
Only used it in .243 but always found heads very hard. Brass is good though
njc110381
Interesting to read that the brass is short. I guess after a couple of firings it will grow and do the job?! I'm not sure about hard bullets. I've always found the ones I've used to open up more than I'd like. Mind you that has been 100% deer related. I've not tried the smaller calibres yet. I suppose compared to a varmint bullet like a V-Max or Blitzking they may well be tougher...

Didn't reload for my 22-250, but in 223 the brass seemed to be good quality for reloading. In 22-250 the ppu soft points hit very hard indeed. Very cheap bullets which did the job admirably through my tikka m595.
David will
I bought 100 in 223 for brass and found them to be acurate, good on Roe ok for fox expanding rather than fragmenting but did the job, a friend was less than happy when used in his 22.250 finding them to pass through with very little expansion, strange as the actual bullet was the same. chaz
I was given several hundred ppu cases in .223 a while ago. I'm still reloading with them. I've binned some here and there as the primer pockets became slightly loose. I have a box of new Lapua .223 brass, but i've no need to use it at the moment. I intend on doing the tall target test at 100m , so i'll see if the brass is as good as i think i suppose... I may have to break out the Lapua to do the test... Biathlonjimmy
I carry privi 55gr SP along with my home loads (52gr Amax 3970fps) in case a see a muntjac when I'm going out on fox and corvids. Its poi is 1.5" lower at 200yds so marginal difference and I've found that the bullet holds together very well and will exit the muntjac. Not bad considering its leaving the muzzle at 3650fps. Never had a runner with deer or fox with the privi. It drops foxes just the same as my home loads but there is a much smaller exit wound. Plum/walnut size for the privi compared with orange/grapefruit size with the amax depending on range. Close range amax, there is no exit just a bag of jelly. If you hit them in the right place you've nothing to worry about
