Toots
Have read how difficult (and expensive) it can be to re-barrel a steyr mannlicher (pro hunter). Is this also true of getting the barrel shortened and re-threaded?

Ronin
Shortening and screw cutting wouldnt be much of a problem to anyone with a lathe and the necessary skill. A rebarrel - I may be wrong but I am under the impression the Steyr barrels are hot swaged in place this obviously makes it extremly difficult to rebarrel, although Northernchris has recently done his - may be PM him to get advice? He posted a thread about the job that looked excellent if you do a search of Chris's posts you should find it fairly easily.
