Re-Pete
Donor Tikka M595 in 22-250, £295 (local gunshop). Lothar 32" straight taper barrel blank, £300. GRS adjustable hunter stock, £300 plus the original one from the Tikka (off this forum), Mikmak Magic: re-profiling an incredibly fat barrel blank down to more realistically suit the action, shortening to 30", chambering, threading muzzle, making end cap, proofing and transfer. £375. 5-round magazine: £80 (Dauntsey Guns) less £35 for the original 22-250 one. Bling: Titanium/Kevlar bolt handle £53, (Turvey Stalking), S/steel bolt shroud (already had this, paid £40 for it last year). Trigger: B&M (Barnard) 2-stage, to die for..............borrowed off my 223 temporarily. The original that came with the donor is excellent, but single stage, so I swapped them over. Scope and moderator borrowed from another rifle. The result is a 1/2 MOA rifle for not too much money. Shoots 123 grain Scenars at 3000 fps with Elcho 17, or 2900 with TR140, Lapua brass, and Murom primers. A bit "overbarrelled"?......................so shoot me........................ http://s1348.photobucket.com/user/pw1231/library/?sort=3&page=1 H/man
furrybean
Very interested in seeing a pic. I've a few 595's and they're good rifles.
