Throating for berger 210g BT LR

Have New FTR rifle build in mind to shoot bergers 210g BT LR with a Bartlin 32in 5g 1 in 10 twist barrel and was looking for info with throating measurements for this combo, Thinking powder charges woint be exceeding 47g which should enable boat tail of bullet seating just below start of neck shoulder junction with new barrel which would give some measurement left to chase lands when throat starts to wear whilest allowing bullet to seat 100% in case neck when throat starts to wear, I understand the 308 barrel life is very good in comparison to other calibers but unsure if throat would wear quicker with this combo, anyone shoot this combo able to give info, thanks.

Are you looking for a freebore measurement in fractions of an inch so you can give it to the reamer maker?

Looking for info-views with what cut freebore measurement would be good to go with new barrel for the 210 bt Lr berger whielst allowing for powder space and growing oal as throat start to wear.

i'm maybe reading your post wrong, but are you wanting to place the boat-tail to shank junction of your bullet below the case shoulder to neck junction in your case? because if you are, then you might want to reconsider this to having it being just above instead of just below.

secondly, and possibly more importantly, whoever is chambering your barrel for you should be able to work out the required freebore for your desired reamer spec or alternatively throat it to the correct length using a throating reamer. if they can't then you can phone and discuss with kiff or another reamer manufacturer what you'd like and he'll sort you out, or you could source a new rifle builder who knows how to do this.....

happy shooting

Hi nowler, Was thinking of placing the boat tail to shank junction of 210g berger BT LR bullet just at neck shoulder to neck junction to allow for chamber wear and allowing bullet to still be seated as much as possible in case neck as chamber wears and seating dept grows, Unsure how much wear and growing coal there will be with this bullet thus trying to get good reference point for chamber for this bullet.
