Carl
Would be very keen to know what powders and primers combinations you have found works the best in your .17Rems I'm currently using Varget a few grains of max and Rem71/2's and am getting very good results with 25gr Bergers. Cant get that mix to work as well with the 30gr bullets though.
17 Rem
N135 and Federal 205M. N140 is good as well, but a little slower (with the 25 grain bullet, at least).
garyw
n135-20 vmax-rem br primers.in 17 tikka. tried umpteen powders over the years- varget is good in my opinion for 25gn+ i keep going back to n135 for a compromise between, case fill-velocity-pressure-accuracy.i have a few more loads that are a tad more accurate but get more pressure[mainly h322-n133]you can get big pressure spikes with just 0.1-0.2gns powder and accidents can happen[ask me how i know]. as always work up slowly with the.
bang bang
Hi guys im new here. Had a friend who had a custom .17 with shilen barrel, he used Alliant Bluedot which is a magnum shotshell and handgun powder. He used 9 grains over a 17 grain hollowpoint nosler bulletwhich gave over 4,000fps and was super accurate cheap to load.
