Orka Akinse
Fella's I am trying some new 125g SP sierra's in my .308 and looking in my online VV load data book [V6] it says: 8,1 125 Ballistic Tip Nosler 70,0 2.756 N140 2,86 44.1 835 2739 3,23F 49.8F 936 3071 Start Load 44.1g VVN140 Max Load 49.8g I have commenced at the start load and moved up in .3g increments and have found that the powder is moving up the neck of the case after 48g and to my reckoning, there is no way I can get 49.8g in the case if I seat the head in by the recommended amount, although to be fair I didn't try. The book has a F after 49.8 indicating Full case which would must be a compression load too is it not? Has anyone filled a case this full? I have stopped at 48g and will try these at Bisley on Thursday. Cheers

eldon
That sounds like a light starting load. I use 44.5 grains behind 165 grain heads (for the pedantic, yes I know there bullets not heads but thats what people generally call them) I used to run 46 grains N140 behind 150 grain heads. Never had an issue getting that in but it was reasonably full.
