Goats in New Zealand

Recommended Posts

Just had e-mail from Dan534 who shot this little chap yesterday in New Zealand.

The goat was taken with a Howa .223 55gr with a 4x fixed power scope at 250 yds, from the sitting position with sling and it dropped like a stone.

Reports so far from Dan534 is NZ is exellent for hunting and is a more outdoors culture.

Funniest thing- my mate sent me two pics this morning of goats his daughters shot within the last week. The younger one is a deadeye- rabbits at 200yds are easy meat and she tipped her first deer over the other day- fair between the eyes at 90yds.

His 6.5-284 is DEF adequate, can't remember what the other one is. Like Dan, I tend to use a .223 on them, though the 6.5x47 is more fun further out..
