I am assuming you want deer legal, although the calibre is termed as "marginal" by some, ive taken a few loads from a specialist site i'm a member of :D

If you do use any of these loads for guidance please start 10% less and work up, they are untested by me so I cannot vouch for their safety.

150 Hornady Hodgdon H-322 28.0g MV 2304 ME 1768

150 Sierra Accurate AA-2200 27.0g MV 2280 ME 1732

125 Speer Hodgdon H-4198 27.0g (Max) MV 2577 ME 1844

125 Remington Vectan SP3 25.0g (Max) MV 2682 ME 1997

165 Remington Hodgdon H-322 28.0g (Compressed) MV 2276 ME 1898

There was a piece written by a chap in Sporting Rifle magazine a few years ago (6 or 7 I guess now), who bought one of these (CZ) specifically for close quarter Roe, seems pretty ideal for this use.

Not sure it would suit larger species at further distances though.....

I wrote a short handloading piece about 7.62X39 using a Cz527 Carbine back in 2005 - if you pm me with your e-mail address I'll send you the Word document with the draft - no MVs unfortunately from those tests.

Somewhere else, I did a little follow-up with chronograph results about the effects of a case-mouth crimp on a load with H335 in the cartridge (reduced the MV extreme spread enormously), that I can find and pass on too.

All my loads used 123gn FMJs, mostly Lapua, some S&B. I came to the conclusion you'd struggle to make 1,700 ft/lbs with 125-130gn expanding bullets in this 16" barrel rifle, but that was pre Muntjac law changes of course. I don't think the bullets would expand on foxes, and may even have a bit of trouble with deer. I have an American article somewhere from the 90s about using the Ruger Mini-30 on Whitetails and the author says it's essential to use the4 130-135gn light jacketed deer bullets designed for handgun hunting cartridges like the .30 Herrett as regular 0.308" bullets designed for more powerful cartridges are too thick jacketed to expand properly.

Accuracy in the CZ was deer reasonable, but not brilliant (best I could get was just under the inch at 100, and 1-1.5" is more reasonable from the Carbine) and it's a nice little cartridge to use in such a light rifle.

Today, I think I'd go for 6.8mm Rem SPC with 100-110s for foxes and 130s for deer in this type of rifle - same bolt face diameter, so start with a 7.62X39 Cz527 and rebarrel with something slightly longer and heavier in 6.8mm. Anyway, that's just speculation on my part as someone who just shoots paper, but I've just got my SSR-15 rebuilt in 6.8 and it's another sweet little number for light rifles.
