stillair1
Just a quiry, for those professional pest controllers that do urban foxing with .22lr. How do you get around the problem of an feo sticking to cf only for the job. As the allowance for .22lr seems a post code lottery. Not trying to stir a right calibre for the job debate btw. thanks neil
Salukiwhippet
My FAC says ......'shall be used for vermin control (.22), Fox control (.22H), deer/fox control (.243) and for any other lawful quarry, and for zeroing'....blah blah.] Since foxes are lawful quarry, seems I'm covered. village idiot
Can't help with your problem, other than to say some FEO's are quite sensible people and some are idiots.

Salukiwhippet
They put it on when I had my ticket opened back in the summer, don't know if it's an open ticket thing or just a new policy since my last renewal. I was down your way 'tother week trialling a new dog, some lovely ground down there! James
baldie
Unless your .22lr slot specifically says "fox" you aren,t conditioned for it. Other lawful quarry, or "vermin" doesn,t mean fox under home office guidelines, or rather certain forces interpretation of them. I know, i had my hands slapped for using a .17hmr on fox, without it saying so on my ticket. I would ring and check.
Salukiwhippet
Thanks Baldie. What does 'other lawful quarry' mean then? My FLO told me ages ago that I could shoot them under a 'vermin' condition cos 'foxes are vermin' Vermin's a daft word anyway, not used in any other part of the law except WRT FAC's! Wish they'd all sing from the same hymnsheet! James
