I am considering 20 inch plus moderator as a compromise I think my foxing distance is mostly done between 70 - 200 yards Like to shoot 300 on paper at Bisley at times Any experience with spikes tactical 223 in general ? Most of the foxing AR15's I sell are usually 14.5-18" with 16" being a good compromise. 18" is better though. People tend to opt for shorter ones if they do most of their shooting from a vehicle. Don't know much about Spikes except they're made in America and it may have a chrome bore and chamber, so be warned...
bbob
I went for a 18" stainless 1 in 8 twist with a T8-AR fitted on my Bradley AR15 did think about a shorter barrel at first but after speaking to Mark went for the 18" setup can't fault it for foxing night and day , scottish roe on occasion and long range bunny bashing don't do mutch paper target work but earlier on in the year we were setting up our rifles (bigger cal's) with Exbal and i did some very good groups with the AR out at 450-550 yards. you have always got the option to shorten in the future ?
