Firstly i would like to say a big thank you to Mike Norris, ;)

This man went out of his way to rebarrel my Ai

6 hours of work

This was due to the fact that he had to make the tools to get the barrel off ;)

His work like a lot of others on this site is simply the best!!!!!

First outing this morning,,,

10 rounds loaded to 37.5g of reloader 15 with 123 grain scenars

5 rounds at 38g of re15 with 123grain lap scenars

5 rounds at 38.3 of re15 5 rounds at 38.5 of re15

By far the best group was done with 37.5, this was .280,,,, fps was 2890

the most consistant was the 38.5 with an fps of 3000,, But the group was only .7 of an inch

cant believe this as the sd and es was in single digits????

Very nice calibre to fire,, I could even spot my shots :D

For competitions i would like to run in the 3000 fps range,, But with .7 groups at 100,,, Who knows??

Wilson hand held dies,, Case neck size fired is .293

Case neck loaded size is.2895

I would hope that with a bit of adjustment to the O.A.L ,, I might get better results with the load that was in the 3000 fps range????

Got to remember that most of these rouds were fire and clean, fire and clean,, So as to run the barrel in!!!!!

I hope that some others on here might have some other loads?????

All the best Darrel

Darrel,

there is a topic on the American Long-Range Target Shooting website forum (www.usrifleteams.com) re 6.5X47 loads. A contributor called Kevin has posted a long list of his favourite loads with the cartridge in the Technical Discussions / Precision Reloading section.

BD,

Due to the ai being heavy, The recoil is very mild,, I could even spot my shots on the paper,,,,

The fps readings were

3001

3012

3010

3007 The load was 38.5 of reloader 15

Hopefully with a bit of tweeking this should be a good load????

Laurie,

Firstly it is nice to have you on this site ;)

Thank you for the heads up!! I will go and have a look at that site,,,

Hope to see you at the diggle very soon?????

Had to take everything apat this morning as my scope was bottoming out on left hand windage?? :(

Set it all up on some bags and by the look of it the scope is hardly moving from left to right???

this could be the end of my scope???

All the best to you both,,, Darrel
