The Bill Grant Memorial Shoot at Bowscar, Cumbria.

 

Same venue, 10am start, format as usual. [similar to the DMQ shooting tests plus the pool shoots.]

Looks like the Ratwife can't make it , so we'll be after someone to run the Pool Shoot this time.

Big John is organised for transporting the targets and simulated hi-seats.

The Tiptan Tailban will be running the main event, and a stroppy Yorkshireman will be spittin' and swearin' down on the pool shoot.

I have put your name on the North West trophy for last year. [your score 118/120] only beaten by Zaitsev with 119 who was Open Champion of the day.

I have been watching your CPSA scores, you have had a good year so far with two 100 straights, seven 99s and five 98s.

Much better than Fatfart and Fowlpest !!!

Wet and windy here today but local forecast for tomorrow is `cloudy` with rain expected on Monday.

Shoot held today at Bowscar, The Bill Grant Memorial Shoot.

 

As expected the weather was very windy and cloudy with light drizzle at times but a much better day than yesterday.

The main event was a 12 shot competition with 3 shots on the standard grouping target at 100yds and 9 shots on the Roebuck at 100yds, 70yds and 40 yds. [3 shots from each position.]

100yds simulated hi-seat, 70yds sitting and 40yds standing off the sticks.

Max. score 120 points.

Results :-

1. Zaitsev, Grouping 29/30 + 90/90 Roebuck, aggregate 119 ex 120.

2. stag1933, 30/30 + 88/90 agg. 118.

3. S.Heaps, 29/30 + 89/90 agg. 118.

4. J.Wolfe, 28/30 + 89/90 agg. 117.

5. E.Neasham, 28/30 + 89/90 agg. 117.

 

Zaitsev won the Corney Open Cup and a days Red-Deer stalking in Martindale.

stag1933 won the North West Shield.

Eric Neasham won the Ray Barnes Cup for Light Rifle Class.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

[every entrant also received a prize as our shoots are `non profit making.`

All in all a good day with excellent scores but marred by mediocre weather.
