Match One – Feb 25/26 2023 – Hornady Challenge

[LONG RANGE CAPT]

Attended my very first PRS U.K. 🇬🇧 Match this last weekend, run at Pro Shoot Firearms and Shooting Club is South Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

The cold wintery conditions and at times strong switching wind blowing between 11 - 1 o’clock over both days made for some challenging shooting conditions.

in addition the stages on the Saturday and the Sunday were technically demanding as well time challenging.

The match was very well run by the PRS Team, the RO’s were competent and professional.

I had a really enjoyable time with the squad I was with (squad 3) it was also great to see the sport growing with so many new shooters taking part as well. 
If you have ever fancied having a go at this style of shooting then I can’t recommend this sport enough.

I really enjoyed the match, particularly day one, getting my first "clean" on PRS skills stage and a good score on the tricky trailer stage.

 

Day 2 was fun but marred by two mag failures, a loose butt (snigger) and then a trigger failure.

 

Awesome squad-mates lent me rifles to finish the day (Thanks Ryan C and Joe P!) but Saturday's dream of a PB result were truly dashed (PW achieved!)

 

Wish I could make the next one in April but I'm not free so I'll have to wait until June.

 

Great match and venue.
