dont know what load...if you could produce a safe load that is without it blowing up in your face... ..but the results would be similar to a .22lr sub

from hodgdon website;

55 GR. HDY FMJ Hodgdon Titegroup .224" 2.200" 3.1 1064 4,000 CUP

55 GR. HDY FMJ Hodgdon Clays .224" 2.200" 3.2 1060 3,700 CUP

Imr trailboss is good for subsonic 308 loads so could be a possibility in the 223 too.

Subsonic 223--

55gr flat base SP

3.0 - 4.0gr UNIQUE, depends on barrel and local environment

LC brass, WSR primer

Follow all prudent safety measures. These loads appear stable in 1:7.7 and 1:9 barrels.

there are some bluedot loads out and about down around 3-4 grains that are pushing just over 1K. Effective way to use your 223 as a 22LR sub. If you do some searching around for bluedot loads in the 223, you can use bluedot from a min load up to a max load and vary the velocity from subsonic to a bit over 3K (I don't remember what bullet). That means 22LR subs up to low 223 Rem performance.

Thanks,

Rick
