Marlin 1895 SBL .45-70

Marlin 1895 SBL, .45/70 made in North Haven, CT, USA. So one of the “Remlin” guns that seems to get a bad rep from keyboard commandos. This is a very nice rifle, I have looked after it very well and had a lot of fun with it. It has fired about 400 rounds. I’m funding a new motorcycle and so letting a few guns go.

This is fitted with a Trijicon Accupoint TR21 1.25-4x magnification scope in Warne quick release rings. It’s a nice, fast setup. It has an Outdoor Connections sling and a very nice Hill People Gear stock cuff. Paracord wrap on the lever. It’s a handsome bit of kit for sure. These retail at £1695 new. 

As pictured with dies, about 50 cases and 60 bullets - £1500

Rifle only (with no accessories/consumables) - £1000

It’s a good price- I pointed some one from FullboreUK forum this way. I already have the GSBL (same rifle but laminate is painted green and stainless has a black ferro-nitride treatment) otherwise I’d have been tempted.

im just on the cusp of renewal, doctors paperwork is in but haven’t done the on line as yet,

i recently sold my Winchester in 45 Long Colt , and intend to replace it with a 45-70 , 

purely as they have much longer legs!!

It’s a good calibre, you’ll definitely find it more versatile than .45LC

Yeah I’ve been using one with reasonable success out to 300 but my eyes don’t allow any further,

45long Colt is really just a 50 yard thing,

but we’ve never have any close range shooting so it moved it on,
