Travelling to Ireland with Firearms

Recommended Posts

Next year I will have the opportunity to travel to Ireland to shoot there, as a friend is re-locating shortly

I know I will need to show a European Firearms Pass & possibly my Firearms & Shotgun Certificates at the airport (flying with Aer Lingus).

But does anyone know what else will be required to enter Ireland?

To the best of my knowledge you'll also need an Irish Firearms Certificate. I'm sure someone here must've done it?

Have you checked that Aer Lingus will take firearms by the way? As I know Ryanair won't.

Yes Aer Lingus does take firearms John.

you will find all the info you need here chris.........

http://www.caireland.org/Forms_and_downloa...lic_of_Ireland/

A fee for a visiters permit for the firearm applies, also if you wishto hunt deer on irish land you will need a deer hunting licence also available from the above,

but you will have to verify the lands you wish to hunt on by way of foilo numbers of the lands you intend to hunt............

hope this helps
