Bazooka Joe
Reloading for my 243 today, got some once fired Hornaday brass from a mate a couple of weeks ago. I'm looking for a recipe with the 87g Hornaday BTHP's, & I'm swapping my brass around to see which suits best, hence the Hornaday. Max length of the 243 case 2.045", I trim mine to 2.035", while doing this I noticed that the Hornaday cases were a lot longer that the one's I'd being using previously, nearly 50 thou to be precise. Has anyone noticed the same with this brass, seems a bit excessive with only being once fired? BJ.
Andrew
Your brass expanded (stretched) to fill the chamber of your friends .243. I suspect it has little to do with the brass itself and much to do with your friends chamber. ~Andrew
Bazooka Joe
Thanks for the reply Andrew, I've loaded the same cases today ready for zeroing, my mate will be there & I'll ask him to bring the same gun. Get him to put a couple through & compare his with mine afterwards. Cheers, BJ.
