reloading trg22

I am about to start loading my Sako TRG 22. I have loaded for another caliber in the past so I understand the basics. I have very limited ingredients for the 308;

Vit 140, nosler 165 ball tips and fed 210 primers. I know it likes the 167 scenars factory.

any suggestion please.

Thanks

I load for 308, not trg, and my load is using similar items.

May not be safe in yours etc etc.

Vit 140 44.5 grs

Sierra 165 HPs

CCI standard large rifle (200 ?)

Lapua cases

2.820 oal

This gives out of 24'' 2705 fps.

This is getting towards max for mine.

Good accuracy for me with very consistent 5/8 or better groups.

Very effective head, sorry bullet  on deer and it doesn't exit on reds.

It's your lucky day, that's the recipe for one of my favourite loads in my TRG.

Try working up to 44.5 of N140 and seat the bullet 10 thou short of the lands, but it will be very tight in the magazine.

Failing that gets some 168 Amax and Reloader 15

Have fun and let us know how you get on

Elwood,

what COL are you ending up with when using the Nosler 165 gr. Only I was using the stoney point gauge this evening and was getting readings of 2,940 -2.960 " when I could just feel it touch. This seemed very long or is it to do with the ballistic tip bullet ogive being set back?

thanks to everyone else for the info
