For the money i think the tactical is way overpriced, a standard varmint would be a better buy but if you do want to spend the money have a look at the Sako 75, although succeeded by the 85 there are still many around and they are a much better rifle then the Tikka. mildot Posted August 5, 2008 Report Share Posted August 5, 2008 I was thinking of getting a tikka varmint but would not pay the extra for the super varmint when the only real difference is the picatiny rail which you can get for £50! They are way overpriced and to be honest not the best bit of kit for the money; the stock feels like its made out of recycled plastic bottles to me. If you ca get a good action and find someone who will bed it cheaply, there are plenty of excellent smiths around who will supply and fit (+ proof) a pacnor tube for under £400. Just a thought.
