VARIATION

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, have decided to have my rem .22/250 rebarreled in 6m BR, but want to buy a new .22/250, just not quite sure how to fill in the variation form when apllying for a new calibre on an old action. Any advice would be welcome

Thanks in advance

Hi Nell,

Its just like buying another rifle, you give your smith your 22-250 and it will be treated as if you have sold it to him, he re-barrells and sells it back to you as a 6mmBR.

For this you will need a variation for a 6mmBR and you will also need another variation for another 22-250, unless you wait untill you give your rifle to your smith to be re-barrelled and then submit your variation form again asking for a 6mmBR and also asking for the authority to aquire a 22-250 to be retained.

If you are going to be without a rifle and want to buy another 22-250 at roughly the same time you have your other one re-barrelled then you will have to follow the first route but you will need to inform them that you have disposed of the first 22-250

They dont need to know from you that you are having it re-barrelled they can work that one out for themselves.

Sorry silent, must have been typing at same time. The .22/250 has had a trigger job and swapped the SPS stock for an AI stock so a bit bulky for stalking ,but ideal for the 6br i hope.so want to get back to a light weight .22/250 for roe stalking.

Hope this makes sense :):)
