DL.
I see from this news article that it's unlawful to store 20 litres of petrol in a standard 20 litre metal jerry can! http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/17548007/what-is-a-jerry-can-a-guide-on-how-to-legally-store-petrol I've found the scepter cans to be pretty good. http://www.scepterconsumer.com/fuel_containers/regular_fuel_containers/ The 10L fuel can going for £26.12 from this place - http://www.liverpoolpowerboats.co.uk/spareEngineParts_Product.asp?t=spare%20engine%20parts&sub=234&subname=Jerry%20Cans&ProductType=Scepter%20Petrol%20Jerry%20Can&id=697&productID=4520 Can be bought for £7.79 from here : http://atv-services.myshopify.com/products/yamaha-genuine-part-ymm10ltre000?variant=3993859587

MrCetrizine
Once again, the BBC are wrong. You can hold up to 30 litres and it can be in one vessel. "SCHEDULE 2 Petrol Storage in Domestic or Other Relevant Premises Requirements for keeping up to 30 litres of petrol in suitable portable containers or in a single demountable fuel tank. 1. A person keeps petrol in accordance with this paragraph if— (a)no more than a total of 30 litres in suitable portable containers or in a single demountable fuel tank is kept, of which— (i)no more than 30 litres is kept in one or more suitable portable containers; (ii)no more than 30 litres is kept in one demountable fuel tank; or (iii)no more than 30 litres is kept in no more than two suitable portable containers in any motor vehicle, motor boat, hovercraft or aircraft; ."
