JohnGalway
I'm looking to try a new sling for my Remington. Currently I have a Butler Creek Comfort Stretch sling. It's good but I think a wider one would be better as the weight would be distributed more evenly on my shoulder. Any good suggestions please? PeteL
Hi John, I use a 2" wide canvas sling with leather ends and brass buckle for my 416 Weatherby which, after restocking, weighs just over 11 lbs with scope, 3 down and one up the spout. There are some slings about made from a dark brown canvas but they are not such good quality, the canvas is quite coarse, but the ones that I have are a reddish tan colour. You may have to search around a little. Alternatively, find a 2" wide leather one in a fairly softish leather, because if the leather is thick and rigid, it'll dig into your shoulder and is very uncomfortable even with a stalking jacket and sweater. That's from personal experience - don't ask. You could get a local saddler to make one, of course.
Streeker59
John. This is a split sling made by a company called "Niggeloh". Would this be of any use to you? Grant..

ds1
Have a look at the slings Rob Hunter does. They seem very good from what I`ve seen. FWIW I use a biathlon type sling. David.
