creedmoor velocity

Hi guys I found a great load for my Creedmoor atm but the only thing is that I would like to now the velocity but I got no chronograph it would be great if some on all now on quick load the velocity it giving me roughly as I even haven't got quick load to

I'm using

Hornady brass

Cci primers

Ramshot hunter with 44.5 grns

140 amax

At 2.750

With a 24 inch barrel

Or just test it at range and figure out your velocity from the drop?

Yh will hopefully but I haven't got the time for a couple months to try it out like that mate I did on my last 243 and it worked a treat

Thanks very much blueboy69 that's faster than I thought it would be going I was thinking just under 2700 by the ramshot load data chart

As to the velocity, the accuracy of QuickLOAD, like all computer models, is only as good as the model and input data. The computed data could way off and in reality, be something else entirely.

 

Going by Ramshot's (Western Powders') Hunter data for the Creedmoor with the aforementioned A-Max bullet, you have this.

 

140 gr Hornady A-MAX, 40.8 gr gives 2,501 fps, 45.3 gr gives 2,779 fps at 58,962 PSI. The cartridge OAL is 2.740", the test barrel 24", its twist 1-9".

 

The computed data for 43.5 gr is very close to Ramshot's, the velocity out by 1 fps (2,780 fps) and pressure down by 2,010 PSI.
