Rifle basix trigger

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have fitted a rifle basix LRV 1 trigger to my Remy 700 and it feels good but I haven't live fired it yet as I have a query.

The fit went well and it all seems to work ok. But...........

I noticed now that when opening the bolt (empty chamber), it seems stiffer than before? Looking from the rear as in prone shooting especially around the 3 to 2 '0' clock position. It is the same whether it is fired or unfired (obviously on an empty chamber).

Closing the bolt is fine and no different to before.

Can somebody just put my mind at rest.

Cheers

Does it dry fire ok?

It may be that the little spring under the sear is not upright in its slot, and tipped over. Take the pins out and check.

cant remember off the top of my head, but i think that particular model has the extra lever at the back, and that must also be in the correct position when all back together,as per the instructions.

Cheers Baldie, it dry fires ok and it might be just me, but it seemed a bit tighter lifting the bolt.

I will whip it out and have a look

The extra lever at the back you mention, I think is the ERV3 not mine.

Thanks

Yep, your right ...it is the erv.........its been a long day.

Did you fit the new pins that were supplied with the kit? or did you polish your existing ones? the rb triggers work much better with push-fit pins.

I didn't get any new pins with mine just 2 plastic rivets to hold it together.

I polished my existing pins to a light push fit.

After your suggestion with the spring I stripped it back out and it all seems fitted fine.

The bolt still seems a little stiffer when opening maybe it will wear in.

Thanks
