I have just got rid of the leupold 4.5-14x50. Great scope but I feel I need more mag and fancey illuminated reticule. I will be playing out too 500 to 600 yards max but hope to have the scope as a keeper. So further may be reached in the future, you never know. What mag do people see as fitting for this range. I want to try for some nice groups, do I need high mag? I am fine with my 8x on my stalking rifle at 100yards and can get 3 shots clover leafing. I dont know what to expect at these ranges. Guest varmartin Posted May 7, 2008 Report Share Posted May 7, 2008 If you want to reach out to 600 + yards then you will need a scope that is not only clear, but one that tracks reliably. 20 x Mag will be required if you want to see bullet holes 6mm in diameter. I have a Nightforce NXS 5-22x56 and a Leupold 6.5-20x50....Both are very capable scopes and both return to Zero perfectly. The only scopes that are superior cost twice as much as these two IMHO... If you like the Loops go with them and get the MK4 Illuminated if not then the NXS is very hard to beat. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
