casts_by_fly
hi guys, Obviously steel, but can anyone be more specific? I'd like to hang out that I can leave on my permission permanently. Not having seen one in person, what kind of steel are they? How thick? It would be for a 223 or smaller. I'd like to find out about 6" diameter. Thanks, Rick
Vermincinerator
Hi Rick, I had mine flame cut from half inch thick hot rolled plate they also burnt two holes for mounting the chains. Its tuff stuff, the closest we have shot at it is 170yds and 6mmBR, 22-250 and 22-250 AI lightly crater the surface. Ian

scallopdiver
I used 6"x6" plates of3/4"mild steel hanging off a re-bar frame. The plates have holes punched in either corner for shackles to attach them to the re-bar frame. They stand a fair few rounds of .222 and when they get badly shot up i fill the craters up with the mig or just replace them. They do make a good long range target for reading wind etc
