UKBRA 100 Yard 6th September 2014

Saturday saw the final shoot of the year for the 100 yard league.

The weather was “supposed” to be kind, however in true Diggle fashion we were treated to some “Liquid Sunshine”.

However as we shoot under cover this wasn’t too bad, especially as the wind was favourable. We had a light breeze in the morning, which died off later in the day…….. However the mantra of “if they flags aren’t moving, they aren’t telling you anything” was definitely true.

Competition was stiff in the good conditions with no less than 6 shooters recording aggs below 0.3”, well done all.

There were also some great individual groups shot, special mention to Jack Mills in Sporter class, who shot a stunning 0.134” group with a completely bog standard Browning A Bolt 223.

OK, onto the scores

Heavy Varmint

1. Bruce Lenton – 0.1866” (Average of 5 x 5 shot groups)

2. Phil Sammons – 0.2114”

3. Gary Stewart – 0.2222”

Small Group – Vince Bottomley – 0.123”

Sporter Class

1. Stuart Benson – 0.4112”

2. Jack Mills – 0.4184”

3. Mary Marsden – 0.7992”

Small Group – Jack Mills – 0.134”

2. Darrell Evans – 36 pts

3. Vince Bottlomley – 30 pts

Overall we have had a great year and it has been good to see you all at the new shoots and to see some new faces.

The 600 yard season begins on Saturday 25th October at Diggle and we will try and run some one off 100 yard shoots during the winter if people want.

All the best

Bruce
