Murph
Just wondering does anybody make their own tools for reloading purposes. For example case trimmers or bullet runoff gauges?

Andrew
I make my own bullet sizing dies and such. I have made bullet molds and related gear. Reading the piece on tubing micrometers has me wanting to rig one up for measurig my neck wall thicknesses.~Andrew
Murph
Was just wondering as I've made a few things myself like a tool for fixing the runoff on my bullets. I can get the runoff down to under a thousandth of an inch with a bit of care. I also modified a Lyman case trimmer to run off a sewing machine motor- very handy as I use a foot pedal to control the speed of it which leaves my 2 hands free to operate it. Just wee things that make reloading a bit more enjoyable. Andrew I was thinking of making something to check neck diameters of my cases also. It's always surprising when I load rounds and check them on my runoff tool. Some will show very little runoff atall and then you get the odd one that shows 2- 21/2 thou which I adjust down. It seems to have virtually got rid of any fliers messing with my groups when I do my part.

Murph
This is the run off tool I made. Handy machine for straightening bullets out. This is the modified case trimmer. I Made new brass inserts and machined the shaft to fit a v belt off the sewing machine motor. It trims to within a thou. The hole In the top is for lubrication.
