DW58
I've seen photos of nickel-plated .300 WSM cases - can anyone tell me which make these are and where I could obtain some? Thanks.
drum
Winchester make them, never seen them for sale, only as factory loads.Winchester supremes i believe they're called.150 ballistic silvertips.Bought 100 years ago, very impressed with them but very pricey.FWIW i did reload them but most split on third firing, they are very hard to work, seemed very brittle, just use bog standard winchester brass now. Can't fault it. DW58
Thanks Paul - if they don't re-load well they're of no use to me. Thanks. I guess the search is over.
ChrisF
Although they look NICE , they donot reload well , and I get the impression that they maybe not the best with hot loads , as brass expands and also grips the chamber walls , where as I feel the nickel coating , makes them slippery , not what I want when dealing with high pressures in modern rifles . In pistols I feel the nickel cases are a better option , that the rifle use , as lower pressures and usually straight cases , they do still reload a bit harder , as the nickel is harder , so carbide or lube them .
