Went out this evening for a couple of hours and walked around some recently acquired land 1/2 mile from my back door.

I asked the land owner for permission to control his rabbit population, he was over the moon and immediately agreed to it.

It consists of a small holding some holiday lets and a few paddocks holding chickens and a quantity of live stock.

It is set in a valley with rolling gorse edged open fields and the ground has a high sand contents being a mile from the coast.

Ideal bunny country, and a lot of them there are too.

I estimated around 60 bunnies were visible on arrival.

Here is a picture of the ones I shot in the first small field, easy pickings from 40 -80 yards with my .22lr

Thanks for the replies guys.

I dont think these rabbits have been shot at in a long time, there are some very big bunnies in them hills.

I only ever go for head shots with the .22lr, but one did get hit in the chest cavity which was my fault as it was a off hand shot at 45 yards.

I also saw a couple of foxes both could have been shot but I left them as the land owner expressed a liking for them...

Along with the odd Roe Deer that he has seen.
