how long should I wait for a cut n thread

Its been a long while! to me anyway since I dropped my finnfire for a chop and thread how long should it take including proofing?

 

And what's all this I have heard about the Birmingham proof house if I pay more I can get a faster service / they will take better care of my rifle ? Sounds outradgious

As to the threading, that is down to how busy your 'smith is and what you agreed. It might only be an hour or so work however if here are 90 jobs in front of yours....You can mark things for 'Priority Proof' and they are usually turned round within 48 hours however I am not sure they take any more or any less care of your rifle. I only ever deal with London and they appear to treat every single item with equal care.
