MrCetrizine
Hi, the below photo is of a once fired Remington .223 I never even noticed the crack until I was about to resize it. It's primer showed no pressure signs. Fifty other cases from the same bag have been reloaded six times with no issues. The nineteen others that this was fired with for the first time show no issues. It's a load I've shot around 500 times with no issues. So is this just one bad case or could it be something else? Click image for higher resolution. Gandy
Sounds like you have answered your own question if you have checked everything. Have you checked your dies to make sure there is nothing within them which could have marked or scored the case if it was the last one you sized? MrCetrizine
It's not been resized since it was fired. I full lengthed it out of the bag when new and it was fine when I loaded it. I guess it's just a bad one. It's Remington so I expected it eventually. I've just never seen a brand new case fail so badly which scared me.
JB1
Its U/S now whatever, I would be tempted to cut the case in 1/2 I'm betting you will see why its split as you first thought just a bad case.
