oaken
Can I use a .308 redding type-s full length die, without the bushing fitted, to size the body and bump the shoulder back on .260 and .243 brass? Cheers Rup
Ronin
You could try, but youll probably find the die strikes the top of the case holder first. Take .040" off the base of the die and it will work if the die contact the shell holder
oaken
As far as I can see from my reloading manuals, the dimensions of all three cases (.308 .260 .243) are identical apart from the angled length of the shoulder due to the different neck sizes. What I am unsure of is how much of the shoulder needs to make contact with the die to effectively bump it. The 308 die obviously has the larger neck hole resulting in less surface to bear on the shoulders of the smaller calibers. I'm probably not explaining this well, think Ill just have to get the die and try it. Rup
Ronin
Suggest that would be the best course of action Rup
