Mack
Hi I'm looking for some favoured loads for Viht 160 with 95 grain Hornady SST's or 100 grain Hornady BTSP. Can anyone help? Thanks Mack
stag1933
Hi. The Vihtavouri re-loading guide states a max. load of 42.3gr of N160 with the S.P.Sierra 100gr bullet. A starting load of 10-15% less is advised. In my Sako Varminter I had excellent results with the 87gr V.Max. , 46gr of N160 and the Fed.GM 210 Match primer until the supply of ingredients dried up. Currently I am using the 75gr V.Max. and 40.5gr of N140 powder with the Fed. primer. HWH.
Mack
Many Thanks. I found a Sako 75 catalogue in my collection of magazines which lists the powder and charge they use with their various heads. I subsequently tried 42.4 grains of Viht 160 with the 95 grain Hornady SST with excellent results on the target.
devilishdave
I use 42g of 160 with Nosler 95graindn Balistic Silver tips. I find them to perform well shoot reasonably flat and drops the deer well. Dave
