Hi guys

well got a chance to play with the new rifle again today in some insane wind conditions!

mid 20's to 40mph!

Not great weather for load develoment but i needed to get out and find a load for a upcoming shoot so needs must!

I was mainly testing to make sure i had no pressure signs as i had been having a bit of bother with exesive pressure with brass that i expanded up from 6.5-284 brass but ive got a load that i can knock up a few of now so happy days!

I had resized some brass that i beat the crap out of on the first firing so i didnt kill any new brass turned out the Win brass is a fair bit longer then my max chamber length and caused some case head stamping!

(i would normally trim after first firing!)

i had a few differnt powder charges & seating lengths and im pretty happy considering the conditions!

Heres the specs

.284 straight taper border/archer

tikka 695 stainless ceracoated black

A5 clone from joe west rifle stocks

northstar moddy

sightron s3 tactical moa2 6-24

expertly screwed together & bedded by Andy aka ronin

(nice job & thanks mate:-))

heres a couple of pics on the day!

Thanks Andy, I'd really appreciate hearing about your quest with handloading this. What powder? H4831SC?

Mine's planned as a Sika basher :) Mainly looking to try the various 140's.

Cheers

I tried h4831sc and it was very accurate but h4350 seems to be the winner!(and faster)

Can't get rl17 working well tho!

Nice results Andy, considering the conditions.

Thanks bud

It's shot proper bug holes in still weather even with a dougnut problem and various presure issues so I think it will be spot on with out any more brass problems!

Cheers Andy

Good results in that wind.

49.7 looks fave (.010" off) , shame about the hassle with over-length brass,

It sure shoots though.... :D

Yeah mate good call on that::-)

I think 10 or 20 off is looking Realy promising!

The wind really was nuts and the only direction I could get the wind up the line (ish) was looking into the sun so nowhere near optimal!
