New to me .243 Sako m591 varmint

Just picked this complete rifle package up

 

 

at 100 yards I put 3 shots into .3-.4" with the home loads I got with the rifle, these consisted of sako brass, 35grn of h4895, a sierra 85grn hp with a col of 2.670". Looking forward to testing with the 87grn v-max.

The scope is a doctor vzf 2.5-10x48 m, it has a few minor marks and the glass is crystal clear.

The mod is a wildcatpredator 8 which has seen less than 50 rounds!

Also came with a swivel bi-pod, sling, hard carry case and of course about 75 very accurate rounds.

 

When I get the time and money allows, I would like it retreaded to fit my jet-z, a re-crown and picatinny rail fitted which would need the action drilled and tapped.

Are there any gunsmiths within Cumbria or SW Scotland you would recommend to do the work? Pm with details/costs would be much appreciated.

Also a suitable scope for long range varminting will be added.

you don't need to get it re-threaded. as long as your ase isn't the older type on.e then the nut in the back can be changed to suite the rifle you have now.

 

as for re-crowning it. if its dead accurate leave that alone and save your money

 

nice looking bit of kit. i see this for sale on stalking site. you got a bargain

I've a 691 in 30-06 and its a cracking rifle shoots almost anything MOA

Cracking rifles, I have a 20" .243 and a 24" .308. I've got them fitted with a sightron 8-32x56 sIII moa2 in optiloks, and just swap it to whichever one in use, the build quality shows, as it's only 1/2 Moa difference in zero @100 yds between the two rifles. As said above, get the mod 'modded' and don't re town if its already a shooter
