52 gr amax pet loads

hi guys

 

picked up a box of 52 gr amax at the weekend, just thought i'd give them a try

 

wondered what pet loads you have for 22-250, 14 twist.

 

powders i've got to hand, varget, H4895, BLC-2, Reloader 15, Benchmark

 

any info appreciated

Hi Jock

I find 34grns of h4895 is a moderate but deadly accurate load out to 250 yards loaded slightly long at 2.400" but if you want a really fast load with rl 15 I use 38.2 grns loaded again slightly long at 2.400" fox out to 400-450yards

hope this helps but remember start low and work up

I have shot a hell of alot of 52 gr a max out of .22.250s . They are a fantastic bullet, The only powder i ever used was H380 around the 39.5gr mark.

havnt got any h380 at present, however will bear it in mind if the new test loads dont go to plan
