Does anyone know a good source for rechargeable 18650 batteries, i am fed up with buying so called 3800mAh batteries to find they dont hold charge with claims of 1000's of hours use, from fake china goods. I need reliabiltiy. Thanks

The default on the big torch forums are AW protected 18650 batteries. Plenty of recorded incidents of crap 18650s catching alight, or blowing up, so its worth getting good ones. Various places sell them including flashaholics

just a heads up, there were loads of fake ultrafire chargers doing the rounds a while ago, they not only knacker batteries, they could also make them catch alight.

thanks for that link - that chap really seems to know what he's talking about. Just ordered some 18650s. Anything like ultraFIRE trustFIRE xxxxFIRE tends to be hugely over enthusiastic in their claims. Except Surefire that is. A fine example of this is an ebay listing Ultrafire 4800lumen Single mode Hunting torch shooting air gun+scope mount Zoom. Claiming 4800 lumens from 3 x AAA batteries defies so many laws..
