Hi all.

I got a phone call last night after dark to say a Roe had been killed adjacent to my stalking a few miles from here and was on the grass verge.

This road is a race track and not a place to be after dark looking for a dead Deer on the roadside so I went this morning to gather it up assuming of course that a human Jackdaw had not been there first.

I soon found it and was disappointed to find that it was not a Doe but a large Buck.

The antlers were broken off above the coronets and missing. It had huge drooping coronets and obviously would have been a fine trophy beast.

I gathered it up and took it to a farmer friend who breeds dogs so it will not be wasted.
