7mm rem mag

Im thinking of changing the barrel and maybe the caliber of this rifle its a remington 700 stainless chambered in 7mm rem mag any idears?

With your 7mmRem mag, you are stuck with that or a .300 win mag, or any other belted magnum. Despite Remington opening up the bolt face to accept the lapua magnum on production guns, the bolt head is horribly thin. Not a good idea in my opinion. I would not want to fire one personally.

 

The .270 could be used for a variety of cartridges, the one that springs instantly to mind being the .284 win, or .280 Rem.Basically, any long action .308 bolt faced case.

The 7mm rem mag is an excellent long range cartridge when loaded with the right bullets. Check out the Berger 180's before changing anything.

I already use 168 bergers and 162 a-max and shoot out to 600 yards with them im just toting with the idear of something bigger and a bit more exclusive to use but sticking with thw action.
