ejg223
Talked to Wegu at the IWA, they are working on new scope flip caps. Not sure who I talked to but he seemed to have been involved in the design of the caps. He mentioned that they need to optimise the stiffness or hardness of the flexible sleeve. Anyway I walked away with a pack to try out. One big advantage is that they include five different coloured caps that can be interchanged. The cap is the most likely to break or be lost so it is a bonus to have a few of those. Price is supposed to be around 12 Euro for the pack...~£10.- ? First thought when unpacking was that the sleeve was way too soft. The caps don't really snap closed hard enough or open quite easily even unwanted. The spring free flip design has the advantage that the cap can fold all the way back but clatters when it hits the scope. The hinges are a bit loose and the cap flaps around. Flaps can hinge out and be lost too easy. My verdict, at the moment not very usefull, but once Wegu chooses a suitable material for the main body/sleeve and stiffens the hinge friction...we'll have an alternative to Butler Crack. edi
